Abstract:

A revision of certain generic boundaries within the tribe Malveae is made. A new genus, Sidasodes, is described with two species, one of which is new, Sidasodes colombiana. Akrosida is segregated as a new genus, based on Bastardia macrophylla. The new realignment also recognizes Tetrasida as a distinct genus, and describes as new Tetrasida serrulata- New combinations include Sidasodes jamesonii (based on Sida jamesonii), Akrosida macrophylla (based on Bastardia macrophylla), and Tetrasida chachapoyensis (based on Sida chachapoyensis).
