Perennial procumbent, decumbent or erect herbs. Pedicels without articulation. Leaves rotund-ovate to oblong-ovate. Flowers one to many in leaf axils. Epicalyx absent. Calyx accrescent in fruit becoming reticulately membranous at maturity by disintegration of all but the finely reticulate vascular tissue. Calyx costae absent. Corolla yellowish fading to rose. Staminal column antheriferous at apex. Fruits schizocarpic. Styles and mericarps 5-9, mericarps fragile, simple and unornamented, more or less indehiscent, single-seeded, seeds glabrous. Endoglossum absent.
